PRODUCT AVAILABILITY.  The nature of our business makes it difficult to stock some products.  Please see our Note on Product Availability.  If your order is not in stock it typically will be shipped within seven to ten days.

ONLINE SHOPPING.  JMI uses Mal's eCommerce Shopping Cart for online ordering.  Credit card charges are processed manually before we ship your order.  For shipments within the 48 contiguous states of the U.S., shipping and handling charges are included in the price (except for telescopes).  Most other shipments will receive discounted shipping rates.  Taxes (due when delivery is within Colorado) are not shown in the shopping cart.  If you wish to see shipping (where applicable) and tax amounts before we process your order, you will need to select that option from the drop-down menu on the billing information page of the shopping cart.  Secure pages (SSL) are used when gathering credit card information and JMI retrieves this information through a secure connection to the Mal's eCommerce server.  See the notes on Shipping and Handling below for more information.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS.  For foreign orders, we request that you fill out an order form using the online shopping cart or the order form (found in the document library, one click from our home page).  The order form can be printed and faxed or mailed, or it can be copied and pasted in an HTML-formatted email and filled out directly in the body of the email.  We ask that an order form be filled out so that we get all the information we need.  For example, the telephone number is often missing from foreign orders.  We also need the form so we can decipher parts of the address.  For example, sometimes we have a difficult time knowing what part of the address is the city.  If you do not fill out one of the two forms listed above, your order may be delayed.

PRICES AND PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS shown in the JMI Online Store are subject to change without notice.

PART NUMBERS are shown in the online store immediately above the price.

AN INCOMPLETE ADDRESS may delay shipment of your package.  For example, a complete USPS standardized address may look like this:  N PARK AVE APT 35.  In this example, if you leave out the directional indicator (N), the street type (AVE) or the apartment designation (APT) your package may be delayed while we verify your address.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING—DOMESTIC.  For domestic orders shipped to one of the 48 contiguous states of the U.S., shipping and handling is free.  Free shipping does not apply to telescope orders (including the reverse binocular).  All shipments to Alaska and Hawaii weighing over three pounds will include a shipping charge (contact us for a quote).  Our primary shipping method for domestic orders is Federal Express (FedEx) Ground or Home Delivery.  Some small items and deliveries to post office boxes are sent via United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class Mail (FCM) or Media Mail (MM).  Very large packages or crates (e.g. binoculars and telescopes) are shipped via FedEx Express Freight or through a local freight forwarder.  See the Additional Fees note below.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING—INTERNATIONAL.  Generally, shipping and handling is based on discounted charges.  We will be happy to supply you with a shipping quote.  Allow up to three days for completion of the quote.  Our primary shipping method for most international orders is Federal Express (FedEx) International Economy, or FedEx International MailService (FIMS)* if the package weighs three pounds or less and is valued at or under $200.  Packages sent via United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class Mail International (FCMI) or Priority Mail International (PMI) by special request will NOT be guaranteed and are shipped at your own risk.  Very large packages or crates (e.g. binoculars and telescopes) will be shipped via FedEx International Economy Freight or through a local freight forwarder.  Additional handling fees may be assessed for special shipping requests.  See the Additional Fees note below.

* PACKAGES SHIPPED VIA Fedex International MailService (FIMS) may be delayed up to 10 business days in order to obtain a FedEx minimum total shipment weight.  However, we have found that FIMS shipments reach their destination 30 days or more before packages shipped via USPS.  Once shipped, allow 30 to 40 days for packages to arrive.  Fedex delivers the package directly to the destination country's postal authority which should either deliver the package or deliver a letter stating that the package is available for pickup.  FIMS shipments will always be at or under three pounds shipping weight and $185 invoice total (not counting shipping and handling fees).  Shipping quotes for all FIMS shipments will be stated as a range (e.g. $4.00 to $12.00).

SHIPPING AND HANDLING—AUSTRALIA.  Due to numerous reliability issues (not the fault of the carriers), our policy for shipments to Australia is slightly different from that listed above.  Instead of shipping small packages via FIMS, we use USPS First Class Mail International (FCMI) with no tracking.  Based on our experience, this is the best method for a combination of reliability, speed and economy.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING—RUSSIA.  Due to numerous current issues when shipping to Russia, the shipment of your order will not be guaranteed once it leaves the United States.  This means that you assume all risks.  If the package is lost, stolen or damaged during transit, we will not be able to pay for a replacement or refund your purchase and transportation costs.  Currently all shipments to Russia are via USPS Only.  Federal Express (FedEx) no longer ships to Russia because of some of these issues.  Russia Federal Customs Service now requires full name (first, middle and last) along with your passport number when shipping through United Parcel Service (UPS).  The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is the only service that is fairly easy to use but it still involves risk.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE, DUTIES AND TAXES on shipments outside the U.S.A. are your responsibility.  They are assessed by the destination country and are totally out of our control.  Generally, door-to-door service includes Customs Clearance (a/k/a Brokerage Fees) and Delivery to your door but you are responsible for all Duties and Taxes.  (One exception to this rule is FedEx Ground shipments to Canada where Brokerage Fees are not included.)  Door-to-airport service does not include Customs Clearance, Duties, Taxes or Delivery to your door.  You are responsible for all these costs and they are not included in our shipping and handling charges.  We will NOT create an adjusted (fraudulent) invoice for the purpose of reducing duties and taxes.

ADDITIONAL FEES may be assessed for special shipping requests.  Some examples are: Signature (Not) Required,  Next Day Delivery, Saturday Delivery and a $15 fee for shipping through any company other than one of our standard carriers (FedEx, USPS, QuadExpress).

COLORADO SALES TAX is calculated as follows:  3.0% within Colorado; 4.6% within the Front Range RTD/CD/FD Tax District (Regional Transportation District/Cultural and Scientific Facilities District/Metropolitan Football Stadium District/Jefferson County); 7.5% within Lakewood, Colorado.  Taxes are based on where you take possession of the merchandise.  Since our only location is within Colorado, there are no taxes assessed for out-of-state deliveries.

PAYMENT METHODS include VISA, MasterCard, a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. funds or a wire transfer ($750 minimum, Dealers Only).  If payment is made by check or money order, the order will not be processed until payment has been received and funds have been verified.

A 10% DEPOSIT is required with all JMI Telescope orders (5% IS NON-REFUNDABLE).  JMI Telescopes are custom-built based on the options selected by the customer and therefore require time to build.  The remaining amount due (90%) must be paid before the telescope is shipped.

CREDIT CARD CHARGES are not initiated until your order is ready to ship (except in special cases such as orders requiring a deposit).

MINIMUM PURCHASE.  There is a $30 invoice minimum.  If your invoice (less any separate shipping and handling charges) is less than the minimum, it will be adjusted up to the minimum amount.

30-DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE.  Within the first 30 days following the receipt of an original purchase from JMI, you may return the product, for any reason, for replacement or refund.  All items must be received by us in new, sellable condition and, if possible, in the original packaging.  You will be charged a 15% restocking fee plus the cost for any damaged or missing parts.  In some circumstances we may accept a return after the 30-day limit, in which case a larger restocking fee may will be assessed.  Refunds will be made in the same form as the original payment.  Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded except in rare cases, such as when the incorrect merchandise is shipped to you.  Only items purchased directly from JMI may be returned directly to JMI.  All items purchased from a JMI Dealer must be returned through that Dealer.  A Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number is required for all returns and should be written on the outside of the package.  Complete details are included with each order in an information sheet titled JMI Return Policy.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.  All JMI products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one full year from the original purchase date.  If you should experience a problem with any JMI product, please contact our technical support team by phone at (303) 233-5353.  In many cases, problems can be diagnosed and corrected over the phone.  If the product must be returned for repair or replacement, we will issue a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number.  This number is required and shoiuld be written on the outside of the package.  Complete details are included with each order in an information sheet titled JMI Return Policy.

CHECK YOUR SHIPMENT FOR DAMAGE immediately after you receive it and before you remove and assemble any parts.  If you spot possible damage, call JMI before continuing.  JMI, being the shipper, must initiate any damage claim.  Generally the shipper will want to look at the shipping box or container, packing material and product in its original configuration within a certain amount of time.  They may require that the package be picked up for inspection.  If you are unable to call JMI and follow the previous instructions, take pictures of  1) the open box and its contents before removing anything,  2) the damaged parts and  3) any damage to the box.  If you do any of the following it may delay or stop any resolution:  1) Customer initiated claim,  2) Box and/or packaging thrown away so they are not available for inspection,  3) Damaged parts assembled or used or  4) Delay in reporting damage.

PRIVACY POLICY.  Because we respect your privacy, information from our database is never sold, rented or distributed to anyone outside of JMI.

OUR PRODUCT CATALOG is only published on our website.  The online store allows us to give you the most up-to-date published information on our products.  A brochure is also available on our website.  All specifications are subject to change without notice.

AN ACCURATE AND CURRENT WEBSITE is one of our main goals.  Therefore, our site is constantly being updated and typographical errors do occur from time to time.  We appreciate your understanding when this happens.  We reserve the right to accept or deny a request to honor an incorrect price or specification.
